Polished Concrete

When a Racine business owner was looking for the perfect flooring solution to his new office building project he had many choices with regards to what type of floor he should select:
Carpeting, VCT, ceramic tile, hardwood flooring or a decorative concrete floor finish.
After meeting with Floorcare USA, Inc., out of Waukesha, Wisconsin, this Racine Wisconsin business owner determined that a diamond grinded concrete, stained and dyed concrete and polished concrete floor finish was the right solution for his new office building project located in Racine, Wisconsin.

Floorcare USA, arrived onsite and tested the concrete to determine the type of concrete that was placed and then performed additional site testing to determine what type of industrial concrete diamonds would be required for the proper sequencing to get the Racine, Wisconsin clients concrete the very best results.
Once the concrete was properly analyzed and the correct concrete grinding and diamond tooling identified, Floorcare USA then took on the very detailed task of laying out the decorative pattern for the ground and polished concrete slab.
Floorcare USA utilized laser measuring equipment to layout the geometric shapes and then used proper chalk lines to lay the entire pattern out.
Once the layout was completed, Floorcare USA technicians performed with a high attention to detail the installation of the decorative score cut pattern to delineate between the different.
This aspect of the project really differentiates Floorcare USA from other competitors in the market.
Other vendors do not perform this added step of decorative score cuts and instead, simply tape off the lines between the two colors as a cost saving measure that sacrifices quality and beauty of the installation.
Floorcare USA is of the opinion that the extra step of installing decorative score cuts between different colors is worth the extra time and money when performing a decorative concrete flooring system.
Decorative score cuts ensure there is not bleed-through between multiple colors and they really give the floor a high-end, high quality, attention to detail type appearance.
One the concrete diamond decorative saw-cuts are installed, Floorcare USA then moves on to the initial diamond grind process.
Floorcare USA mechanically diamond grinded the concrete to “cut” the concrete and expose salt and pepper aggregate in the surface.
Once the prepping grind was performed a refinement grind of the concrete was done to remove the scratch pattern from the surface and then multiple polishing steps were performed up to 800-grit levels.
Once the 800-grit level diamond grind process was reached, Floorcare USA then installed the various colored concrete dye/stain colors to area’s specified based on the previously installed score cut patterns and the concrete dye/stain was allowed to saturate and properly react with the floor.
Once the concrete dye/stain properly saturated the surface, Floorcare USA then chemically hardened, sealed and densified the concrete and this also has the added step of “locking in” he concrete dye/stain to the concrete surface.
Once the floors were sealed, hardened and densified, Floorcare USA then performed a 1500 grit diamond polish, Sealed Hardened and Densified the floors a second time and then performed an application of Concrete Guard and burnished to 3000 grit levels for a high gloss sheen.
This Racine, Wisconsin business owner now has gorgeous Decorative concrete floors that are:

  • Durable
  • Easy To clean
  • High traction
  • Truly beautiful and one of kind!
  • Sustainable
  • Green/LEED
