Floor Flatness testing; Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

ARE YOUR FLOORS FLAT?

Unobstructed traffic in material handling facilities and warehouses is crucial to your bottom line, to protect your equipment, increasing material handling efficiency and improving safety. Efficient material handling starts with a flat surface and industry standards for a flat floor begin with FF, FL and F-Min. F-numbers are the standards that impact your material handling efficiency. Higher numbers give you high-efficiency, and increased safety. The converse is also true, lower F-numbers translate to low efficiency, low ROI and decreased safety.

Floorcare USA, Inc. provides services to address the F-number requirements of your facility and loading equipment and testing procedures and processes to give you verified results. This can be for existing facilities where the floor flatness has deteriorated over time or brand new facilities where the concrete did meet the intended requirements. Our concrete leveling can be performed via mechanical means/methods including grinding, milling or resurfacing systems where we replace your cap with trowelable mortar mix or urethane modified cement resurfacer. When we are finished your floor will ride smooth and flat as intended to provide your facility with maximum material handling efficiency.

F-NUMBER TESTING

FLOOR SURVEY EVALUATIONS

Inspect existing facilities before you commit to lease or purchase

Concrete Anhydrous Calcium Chloride Testing; Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

The calcium chloride vapor emission test was developed over 40 years ago to quantify the volume of water vapor radiating from a concrete slab surface over time. This test is directly specified by the vast majority of the Floor Covering Industry as the primary measure of moisture acceptability for floor covering installation. We use this test to model the amount of moisture that emits from 1,000 square feet of slab surface in 24 hours. The result is expressed as “pounds” which is the equivalent weight of water, emitted as vapor, over 1,000 square feet in 24 hours. We also use this result to compare to Manufacturer’s specifications for floor covering or coating tolerances.

Floor Traction Testing, ANSI B101.1 & BOT3000 Traction Testing; Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

Slips, Trips & Falls HURT

Eighty Billion dollars every year is spent on slips, trips, and falls in the United States. The average cost of a single slip and fall is $5,286.00. Floorcare USA has been certified by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) as a Walkway Auditor Safety Specialist. By having a walkway audit performed, Floorcare USA can test the traction level of your floor and provide you with solutions to prevent a costly slip and fall from occurring in your facility.

National Floor Safety Institute | NFSI

NFSI is a non-profit organization focused on the prevention of slips-and-falls through education, research, & standard development. NFSI was instrumental in developing ANSI B101.1 and ANSI B101.3. These are the American National Standards (ANSI) for measuring the slip resistance or Coefficient of Friction of hard surfaces. More can be learned about NFSI by visiting their website.

BOT-3000 Digital Tribometer | Slip Resistance Tester

Using the BOT-3000 is one of the most accurate ways to measure the Slip Resistance or Coefficient of Friction (COF) of your floor.

This machine conforms to ANSI B101.1 (test method for Static COF) and ANSI B101.3 (test method for Dynamic COF) on hard surfaces.

THIS IS THE AMOUNT OF FRICTION ON A SURFACE THAT IS AVAILABLE TO PREVENT SLIPPAGE. THE HIGHER THE READING, THE LESS POSSIBILITY OF SLIPPING; THE LOWER THE READING, THE GREATER THE DANGER. INDUSTRY STANDARDS CONSIDER .50 TO BE SAFE. NFSI CONSIDERS ANYTHING OVER .60 TO BE HIGH TRACTION.

Concrete Rapid RH Testing; Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

Rapid RH Testing measures the relative humidity or moisture conditions in the concrete. This measurement is expressed as a percent. The type of floor covering that is being used specifies the acceptable level that needs to be reached before it can be installed.

Concrete Moisture Meter Testing; Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

Moisture meters measure the current moisture levels on the surface of concrete. These tests typically give you the first indications if more extensive moisture issues are present.

Concrete PH Testing; Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

A PH test can quickly identify the acidity and alkalinity of the floor. The combination of high alkalinity and moisture can damage floor coverings and break down adhesives as well as coatings

Concrete Coring & Lab Analysis; Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

If concrete contamination is suspected, concrete coring and analysis is a useful in determining remediation methods before investing in a flooring solution. Once a core is removed from the concrete, it can be sent to a lab to analyze for Alkali Silica Reactions (ASR), Unreacted Metasilicate Contamination, or Organic Contamination. Below are some commonly performed tests:

An X-Ray Diffraction can determine the make-up of the concrete and the abundance of different minerals present.

Ion Chromatography is a test method to determine if there are contamination levels of water soluble ions that can cause floor coverings to delamination.

Infrared Spectroscopy Analysis identifies and measures levels of organic contamination in the concrete.

Laser Floor Flatness Testing Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest:

Floor coverings like wood and tile need a relatively flat surface to be installed. The results of polished concrete are directly affected by the flatness of the concrete. Identifying how flat a concrete slab is, will determine if an underlayment is needed prior to installing a flooring system.

By utilizing the concrete testing services provided by Floorcare USA, Inc., out of Waukesha, WI and serving: Milwaukee Wisconsin, Waukesha, Wisconsin, State of Wisconsin, Chicago Illinois and throughout the Midwest, you will ensure answers to your challenging floor and concrete flooring needs.
