Urethane Modified Cement

When a Kenosha, Wisconsin food processing and production facility was looking for the right concrete epoxy coated flooring system for their new food processing facility they met with the team at Floorcare USA to help engineer the perfect system.

In this process to engineer the perfect flooring system for this food processing facility, Floorcare USA helped the client realize that epoxy coated concrete flooring systems while very good in their own right are not the very best flooring system for Food, Beverage and Kitchen processing facilities.
The best flooring system for food processing facilities is: Urethane Modified Cement concrete coated and concrete resurfacing flooring systems.
Urethane modified cement flooring systems offer the following performance advantages when compared to epoxy:
1. Higher moisture level tolerances
2. Greater temperature variance tolerance
3. Much improved thermal shock resistance
4. Higher operating temperature performance
5. Lower operating temperature performance
6. Better performance in resisting bacteria and bacterial growth

On this particular Kenosha, Wisconsin Food and Beverage Processing facility project Floorcare USA Inc., first performed moisture testing of the slab to determine moisture levels were in proper tolerance levels.
Once the testing was done, Floorcare USA, Inc., mechanically steel shotblasted the concrete to a CSP3 prep profile and hand diamond grinded all edges for a clean and bondable surface for the Urethane Modified Cement concrete flooring system.
Once the floors were properly prepped, Floorcare USA then primed the surface with Florocrete P, urethane modified cement concrete resurfacing system and allowed the Florocrete P to cure.
Once the primer system was cured, Floorcare USA, Inc., then installed the Florocrete RT Urethane Modified Cement flooring system at a ¼” thick and allowed it fully cure.
Once the Florocrete RT was cured, Floorcare USA, Inc., then performed a full broadcast to achieve a textured/grit profile that was engineered specifically to the SCOF (static coefficient of friction) traction profile that the client desired.
Once the Florocrete system had fully cured, Floorcare USA, Inc., then performed and urethane grout system of Florospartic – Poylspartic coating system and allowed it fully cure.
Product Description: FloroCrete RT is a solvent free, low odor, Rake/Trowel slurry broadcast system that is designed for the most strenuous uses and activity. It is specially formulated for areas where thermal shock, heavy impact and chemical attack are issues. It allows moisture to move through it at a safe rate. It can be installed from a 3/16” to 1/4” (4.5 to 6.0 mm) thickness.
Typical Uses, Applications: Florocrete RT may be used as a part of the Florock Floroproof moisture mitigation system (contact your Florock representative for details) and is ideally suited for Commercial, Industrial and Institutional applications, such as:

The Polyspartic top coat has the following performance attributes:
Product Description: FloroSpartic is a glossy, clear, Aliphatic Polyaspartic. It is a light stable, high performance polymeric system that cures well in cool conditions. It
provides superior chemical resistance to oil, grease, strong detergents and is quick drying, allowing the project to be finished in 1 day.
Typical Uses, Applications: Ideally suited for priming, basecoat and topcoats in the FloroShop, FloroQuartz & FloroChip systems. FloroSpartic can also be used as
a topcoat over an epoxy and Polyurethane Mortars. Highly used in residential, commercial, industrial and institutional applications where fast turnaround or cool
conditions exist such as:
